SAN Fundamentals on Data ONTAP (Cost - FREE)
By the end of this three hour course, you should be able to:- Define the characteristics of a SAN and explain how LUNs relate to the Data ONTAP storage system
- Describe the components of FC, FCoE, and IP SANs
- Create and manage LUNs on NetApp storage systems
- Develop a plan that addresses LUN sizing requirements and backup maintenance processes
- Explain the multipathing options that are available for FC and iSCSI
- Describe the features and components of a scalable SAN
- Identify the most frequently occurring problems that are associated with SAN environments and explain how you troubleshoot the problems
SAN Implementation—Switch Configuration (Cost - FREE)
By the end of this one hour course, you should be able to:- Identify the steps to configure a Brocade or Cisco Fibre Channel (FC) SAN switch
- Identify the steps to configure a Cisco iSCSI (IP SAN) switch
NetApp Unified Connect Technical Overview and Implementation (Cost - FREE)
By the end of this two hour course, you should be able to:- Define Unified Connect, available only from NetApp
- List the benefits of converged Ethernet and explain the basics of Data Center Bridging (DCB) and FCoE
- Identify the steps involved in the host-side and target-side implementation of converged Ethernet using Cisco and Brocade switches
- Configure a converged network adapter and unified target adapters for additional IP-based protocols
- Describe how a traditional Fibre Channel initiator can be mapped to a FCoE NetApp target
