Cisco ACI Mentored Install Services Overview
What is Cisco ACI?
Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), a software-defined networking solution facilitating data center automation with application agility. ACI Anywhere enables scalable multicloud networks with a consistent policy model and provides the flexibility to seamlessly move applications to any location or cloud while maintaining security and high availability.
Data Center Intent-Based Networking
Cisco ACI is the foundation for Data Center Intent-Based Networking
Mandatory ACI Discovery Workshop
Fast Lane will consult with the Cisco Partner’s staff in order to determine the client’s needs, evaluate these needs and the business alignment relevant to ACI and assess the client’s current infrastructure relevant to ACI. From these activities, Fast Lane will create and review with the partner an ACI High Level Design Document (HLDD).
Mandatory ACI Design
Fast Lane will expand on the HLDD to create and review with the partner an ACI Low Level Design Document (LLDD), which includes an Implementation Plan.
Mentored Install Service Options:
Upon completion of the HLDD and LLDD work, Fast Lane can support the client’s actual ACI install in several differing services. The client has the option of services that vary in duration and objectives.
ACI Basic Installation (3 days):
The 3-day mentored install covering ACI basic installation. During this task, a Fast Lane Subject Matter Expert (FL SME) performs an APIC cluster initial setup, fabric discovery, configuration of infrastructure and services, fabric policies, tenant policies and Layer 3 connectivity.
ACI DCI Installation (5 days*):
This Mentored install covers ACI Data Center Interconnect (DCI) implementations: multi-pod, remote leaf, vPod and multisite. During this task, a Fast Lane Subject Matter Expert (SME) configures Inter Pod Network (IPN) and performs APIC cluster initial setup, fabric discovery, installs and configures Multisite orchestrator (MSO). In the case of multisite ACI, the FL SME will configure infrastructure and services, fabric policies, tenant policies and Layer 3 connectivity.
*NOTE: ACI DCI Installation could last 5 or more days depending on the complexity.
ACI VMM Integration (1 day):
In the ACI Virtual Machine Managers (VMM) Integration a FL SME configures a VMM domain and associates it with tenant application profile End Point Groups (EPGs). This activity requires that either ACI Basic or DCI Installation is completed.
ACI L4-L7 Services (2 days):
During this service a FL SME configures L4-L7 devices, service graphs and associate service graphs with contracts. This activity requires the ACI Basic or DCI Installation. If L4-L7 device is a virtual machine ACI integration, then a configured VMM domain is required.
Cloud APIC Installation (2 days):
This Mentored Install covers deploying Cisco Cloud APIC in AWS. During this task, a FL SME configures Cloud APIC in AWS, Inter Pod Network (IPN) and Multisite orchestrator. This activity requires that either ACI Basic or DCI Installation is completed.
Complete knowledge transfer activities so client understands how to configure, maintain and troubleshoot the deployed ACI solution. Upon request, additional formal training can be scheduled as a separate engagement.
