Cisco Announces Updated WAAS Course and New WAAS Exams
On April 9, 2007 Cisco Systems will announce the launch of the updated Wide Area Application Services (WAAS) course and first time launch of the new WAAS exams. The updated course is the recommended course of study for System Engineers and Field Engineers to prepare for exams 642-651 WAASSE and 642-652 WAASFE. Due to the high interest in Cisco Wide Area Application Services, the course and exams are available immediately. The course and exams will prepare Partners for preparing, planning, and deploying a WAAS solution.
Updated Course and New Exams Reveal How to Implement a Cisco WAAS Solution
The updated WAAS curriculum introduces the Cisco WAAS solution by focusing on the business value of WAN optimization and application acceleration technologies. Updates include optimization technology, design considerations, network integration and system troubleshooting aspects providing a foundation for students to design and deploy the Cisco WAAS solution, improving application performance over the WAN while enabling infrastructure consolidation. The inclusion of a remote lab provides the opportunity to install and configure Wide Area Application Engineer (WAE) devices, configure and test application traffic policies and configure acceleration for a Common Internet File System (CIFS).
The new WAASSE 642-651 exam enables a system engineer to validate their knowledge and ability to design a Cisco WAAS solution and the new WAASFE 642-652 exam enables a field engineer to validate their knowledge and ability to implement a Cisco WAAS solution.
