IT training provider invests in lab infrastructure
Fast Lane: opening of a new Cisco Nexus 7000 lab in Berlin
Hamburg/Berlin, 28 July 2010 – The IT training provider Fast Lane has established an additional Nexus 7000 Lab with the very latest equipment. In addition to the Nexus 7000 lab in Hamburg, there is now one in Berlin. At www.flane.de/remotelablive it is possible to take a look at the equipment available via a live webcam.
Currently, Fast Lane has the only two facilities of this type in the whole of Europe and has invested a total of USD 700,000 in the expansion of its data center lab infrastructure, including Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System), virtualization labs and cloud multi-vendor labs for NetApp and EMC. Practical exercises in real operating environments are an important part of the training for the successful operation and management of complex data center technologies. Especially in this area, solutions that involve combination of equipment and software from several vendors are becoming increasingly prevalent.
The second such Cisco Nexus 7000 Lab is equipped with the very latest hardware and is available to customers and course participants worldwide via the Internet. In total, two Nexus 7000 and six Nexus 5000 switches, as well as six Nexus 2000 fabric extenders, are in use. In addition, this training and assessment environment provides six MDS 9124 multilayer fabric switches, a NetApp storage system and six servers with CNA cards.
Fast Lane currently has twelve cross-vendor certified experts and is able to carry out the appropriate training in seven languages. The use of the Nexus 7000 high-end labs is included as an integral part of the training for the following courses:
Implementing Cisco Data Center Networking Infrastructure 2 (DCNI-2)
This five-day course, consisting of 50 % practical lab exercises, prepares participants specifically for the DCNI-2 certification exam (no. 642-974). Work with the remote lab is carried out via a GUI application that allows access to all devices. The particular focus of the training is on the operation and configuration of data centers in which the Cisco Nexus platforms 7000, 5000 and 2000 are used, as well as troubleshooting: !CI-DCNI-2.
Implementing Data Center Networks Using the Cisco Nexus 7000 Switch (IDCN7K)
The training prepares participants for the installation of Nexus 7000 products and addresses the handling of problems that may occur.
In addition, Fast Lane provides many data center training courses: View all
