Channel Account Manager

Fast Lane offers a broad array of hands-on vendor-authorized IT training classes including Cisco Systems, NetApp, Ironport, IBM, Ubuntu, and VMware, as well as vendor neutral courses developed in house.

Job Description
Fast Lane is looking for a qualified Channel Account Manager primarily responsible for the overall relationship including creation, leadership and management of new and existing resellers and partners to ensure they meet sales and other long term objectives. The Channel Account Manager will be responsible for selling company products and services through our North American channel. A qualified candidate represents the company in all activities associated with the channel. This may also require channel sales activities to enterprises (in tandem with business partners) for the appropriate markets and solutions. This position is well compensated with a competitive base salary and achievement-based bonus income.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Continue to build the channel business by developing and executing partner recruitment strategies and tactical plans for multiple and diverse partner channels
  • Manage channel business by working with existing VAR channel
  • Work with Fast Lane sales team to grow channel business in their districts and regions
  • Work with Fast Lane marketing to enhance and promote channel offering/program
  • Support partners by conducting training and seminars
  • Generate channel leads and incentive programs
  • Coordinate product presentations, demonstrations, and proposals
  • Identify potential partner needs and interests and effectively communicate benefits and opportunities of partnering with Fast Lane
  • Create, write, distribute and route partner proposals, sales support materials, including sales ideas/collateral, and product and sales management presentations


The successful candidate will have the following characteristics:

  • A successful track record of selling to and managing an indirect channel organization
  • An enterprise solution/services sales orientation and an in-depth background in technical services sales
  • The ability to develop, articulate, and present a business case
  • Comfortable with a consultative, solution selling approach
  • The ability to develop long term relationships and win - win situations
  • An independent, self-motivated worker requiring little supervision
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail and a positive attitude
  • The ability to create and manage to a budget
  • The ability to handle multiple partners/clients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Five (5) plus years of channel account management experience
