Microsoft Certified IT Professional: Database Administrator (MCITP: Database Administrator) for SQL Server 2008 is the premier certification for database server administrators. The certification confirms that you are fully qualified to administer Microsoft SQL databases and architect entire application level solutions.

Exams:

  • Exam 70-432: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Installation and Maintenance
  • Exam 70-450: PRO: Designing, Optimizing and Maintaining a Database Server Infrastructure using Microsoft SQL Server 2008

Prerequisites

The candidate works in a development environment that uses SQL Server technologies. The candidate should have at least one year of experience installing, configuring and securing SQL Servers.

Course Objectives

Database administrators install, configure and secure databases. Administrators are often tasked with evaluating the performance of the SQL Server by implements partitions and index tuning. Additionally, high availability strategies like Database Mirroring, Log Shipping and Clustering are included in administrators' responsibilities. Database administrators are typically employed by small or mid-sized to large-sized organizations.
