Course Content

The Cisco® PowerVu Server Operations Training version 1.0 instructor-led course offered by Learning Services High-Touch Delivery teaches students how to operate the Cisco PowerVu Network Centre Control (PNC) Server. This course will teach you how to use the PNC interface; view and configure devices through the PNC; search for and view decoders; view and configure virtual channels and events; view uplink parameters; and monitor transactions and diagnostics.

This course is designed for technical professionals who need to know how to operate a Cisco PNC server. The primary audience for this course includes:

  • System operators
  • Technical support personnel
  • Channel partners, resellers


Attendees should have some familiarity with PowerVu or other satellite broadcast networks.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe functions of the PowerVu system and the PNC server; use the PNC client to display devices, search for decoders, and manipulate the decoder management tree
  • Manage uplink signal equipment and settings, including viewing and creating virtual channels and events
  • Manage decoders by performing searches, adding and configuring, downloading application code, and cross-authorizing
  • Monitor the PowerVu system using the transactions, diagnostic events, and alarm features [/list
