Course Content

This course includes material from the the prerequisite course, Implementing Cisco Video Network Devices (CIVND1) in addition to CIVND2. In the first part of the course, you will learn to describe characteristics of video solutions, assess the requirements for a successful implementation of a video solution, and evaluate requirements for video deployments including, codec options, media formats, protocols, network impact, high-level architectural components, interactions, and requisites to the environment.

In the classroom portion, you will learn how to describe Cisco Business Video Components and architectures, implement Cisco Unified IP Phones, Collaboration Desk Endpoints, Cisco Jabber, Cisco TelePresence endpoints, Cisco DMP endpoints, and multipoint conferencing on Cisco collaboration endpoints.

CIVND2 v1.0 introduces a new type of lab called a Discovery lab. Discovery labs enable students to learn about principles and technology in a more interactive, hands-on way. They are located in the Student Guide and are intended to be performed by the students when reached in the course.

Discovery labs replace content from VIVND2 v1.0 with an interactive learning environment, are considered mandatory, and should be treated as a part of the lesson. Many of the discovery labs must be performed in order for the labs in the Lab Guide to be successful. Students can go through discovery labs in multiple ways including instructor-guided labs, self-study labs, with the instructor acting as a mentor, an instructor demo, and a slide walkthrough.
