Cisco Transport Manager (CTM)

This course is intended for:

• System engineers and customers responsible for monitoring and managing Cisco ONS Optical equipment in case of operation and maintenance

The knowledge and skills that you must have before attending this course are as follows:

• Experience in the provisioning and operation of DWDM and TDM (SONET or SDH) cards and circuits
• Familiarity with the basic optical knowledge on topologies, protection, payload, and overhead

Upon completing this course, you will be able to:

• Identify and operate the major functions of Cisco Transport Manager
• Install and start the Cisco Transport Manager client software
• Perform user administration and security management
• Add new network elements
• Use the performance monitoring, fault management and alarm reporting features

The Cisco Transport Manager (CTM) v9.2 course enables you to use the Cisco Transport Manager network management system to operate and maintain a variety of Cisco optical networking products. The course is focused on the Cisco ONS 15454 TDM and DWDM family. Working in up to six groups, you can complete a range of tasks from users and device management down to circuits provisioning. The main focus of the course is to achieve the task of one element or a network set in a smoothest way. Tasks are classified into well-known functional areas (inventory, configuration, performance, security, and fault management) and as such explained in the CTM v9.2 course. The CTM v9.2 course offers also a view into monitoring and troubleshooting options that can be easily explored with various reporting options.
