SnapManager for Virtual Infrastructure Overview and Installation (Cost - 1 TU)
By the end of this one hour course, you should be able to:
  • State the problem that SMVI solves and how SMVI differs from VMware Consolidated Backup
  • Identify the storage architecture and operating system requirements for SMVI
  • Select the SMVI features from a list
  • Install SMVI on your administrator workstation
  • Configure SMVI for access to NetApp storage systems and the VirtualCenter server

SnapManager for Virtual Infrastructure Operations and Troubleshooting (Cost - 2 TU)
By the end of this 90 minute course, you should be able to:
  • Perform and verify the backup of virtual machines and datastores using the SMVI GUI
  • Schedule a backup with a retention policy and alert notifications using the SMVI GUI scheduler
  • Execute post-backup scripts using the SMVI GUI
  • Restore a virtual machine of a VMFS datastore from a backup
  • Restore a single file using the single file restore feature
  • Troubleshoot the most common issues encountered when using SMVI to problem resolution

Virtual Storage Console: Install, Operate, and Troubleshoot (Cost - 2 TU)
By the end of this 80 minute course, you should be able to:
  • Describe the features and benefits of VSC
  • Install and configure VSC
  • Apply best practices to the virtualization environment for easy management of virtual infrastructures
  • Back up and restore datastores and virtual machines (VMs)
  • Provision storage
  • Clone VMs
  • Manage storage efficiency
  • Troubleshoot common issues encountered while using VSC

VMware ESX with NetApp NFS (Cost - 1 TU)
By the end of this one hour course, you should be able to:
  • Describe the purpose of transient and permanent data volumes
  • Identify the steps involved to configure NetApp NFS volumes for VMware ESX
  • Identify the tasks to configure the Ethernet network for VMware ESX NFS storage traffic
  • Identify the steps involved to configure VMware ESX for NFS storage traffic
  • Identify the steps involved to create VMware ESX for NFS data stores
  • Describe the procedure to align the VM virtual disks on the NetApp WAFL (Write Anywhere File Layout) file system boundaries
