The three courses are part of the official Cisco CCNP® curriculum and cover the skills that are required for CCNP certification. These courses are appropriate for enterprise network engineers with at least one year of job experience who are ready to advance their skills and work independently on complex network solutions.

Fast Lane is also offering new assessment tests that correspond with the new CCNP curriculum. The assessment tests are a great way to help you measure your technical proficiencies and select the appropriate course. You can locate these tests within the Learning Center on the Fast Lane Community Site.

ROUTE - you will learn to plan, configure, and verify the implementation of complex enterprise LAN and WAN routing solutions, using a range of routing protocols. The course also covers configuration of secure routing solutions to support branch offices and mobile workers. Thirteen (13) comprehensive lab exercises emphasize hands-on learning and practice to reinforce configuration skills. ROUTE also includes E-Learning that provides self-paced lessons, demos, and assessments that present core learning objectives covered in the ROUTE certification exam.

SWITCH - planning, configuring, and verifying the implementation of complex enterprise switching solutions using the Cisco Enterprise Campus Architecture is the focus of this course. This advanced five-day course also covers secure integration of VLANs, WLANs, voice, and video into campus networks. Thirteen (13) comprehensive lab exercises emphasize hands-on learning and practice to reinforce configuration skills.

TSHOOT - learn to monitor and maintain complex, enterprise routed and switched IP networks. Develop the skills to troubleshoot complex networks including the planning and execution of regular network maintenance as well as support and troubleshooting using technology-based processes and best practices in a systematic and ITIL-compliant approach. Nine (9) comprehensive lab exercises emphasize hands-on learning and practice to reinforce troubleshooting techniques. E-Learning (self-paced lessons and demos), as well as assessments that present core learning objectives covered in the TSHOOT certification exam, are also included in this course.

CCNP Certification Exams

The revised CCNP certification requires three 120-minute exams—ROUTE #642-902, SWITCH #642-813, and TSHOOT #642-832—that validate the key competencies of network engineers. Release of the new ROUTE and SWITCH exams is expected in mid-March and the final TSHOOT exam is now expected at the end of April 2010.

Candidates currently in the process of obtaining CCNP have several different options for mixing and matching certification exams. More information is available on the CCNP homepage on the Cisco Learning Network.
