Required training for exam 642-996: Designing Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric (DCUFD):
The 642-996 (DCUFD v5.0) Designing Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric exam validates a candidate's knowledge of designing a Cisco data center unified fabric solution, including reference network topologies, routing protocols, traffic design concepts, storage and storage networking architectures, scalability, availability, and security and management architectures. Candidates can prepare for this exam by taking the Designing Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric (DCUFD v5.0) course.

Required training for exam 642-997: Implementing Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric (DCUFI):
The 642-997 (DCUFI v5.0) Implementing Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric exam tests and validates a candidate's knowledge of implementing Cisco data center unified fabric architecture including security, management, high availability, and virtualization in the network. Candidates can prepare for this exam by taking the Implementing Cisco Data Center Unified Fabric (DCUFI v5.0) course.

Recertification

Cisco specialist-level certifications are valid for two years. To recertify before the certification expiration date, accomplish one of the following:

  • Pass any current 642-XXX professional-level exam, or
  • Pass any current CCIE written exam, or
  • Pass any current CCIE lab exam, or
  • Pass the current CCDE written exam, or
  • Pass the current CCDE practical exam, or
  • Pass the CCAr interview and the Architect board review to extend lower certifications.
