Just doing a bunch of research on the new release of the Catalyst 6500 Series Switch announced a couple of weeks back at Cisco Live. Fast Lane has been developing and maintaining Cat 6K courseware for years, and has already announced our new course on the latest changes, including the Sup 2T Engine: Implementing Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switches (RSCAT6K). This 3 day course focuses on all the new features, including enabling Secure Borderless Networks with 802.1x and Security Group Tagging. We also have an advanced 5-day class, Advanced Cisco Catalyst 6500 Switching (CAT6KS), that goes into more comprehensive product training on the 6500 Series switches, though is not focused on the new features in the Sup 2T Engine.
Some key articles I found on comparing the Sup 2T to other competitive switches:
- Cisco Live 2011: Catalyst 6500 upgrade the game changer?
- Cisco refreshes Catalyst 6500 Series Switches
- HP fires back at Cisco’s Sup 2T
I would be interested to know if you are seeing a need on your network for 2 Terabytes per sec of throughput. With the explosion of video-rich content on the network, this enhancement might make it an investment for the C suite to consider…
